Astaxanthin
Healthy Origins® 100% Natural BioAstin® Astaxanthin is a carotenoid produced from Haematococcus Pluvialis microalgae. Carotenoids are organic pigments that naturally occur in plants and other photosynthetic organisms. These organic pigments are responsible for giving many plants, fruits, and sea life their vibrant colors. There are over 600 known carotenoids which are broken down into 2 groups: Xanthophylls and Carotenes.
One of the most important carotenoids in the Xanthophyll groups is the super antioxidant Astaxanthin. Astaxanthin is the most powerful known natural antioxidant on our planet! Natural Astaxanthin can have up to 550 times the antioxidant activity of Vitamin E and 10 times the antioxidant activity of Beta Carotene.
May protect the skin from UV-induced damage and melanin production.

Acetyl Glutathione
Glutathione is the most powerful and prevalent antioxidant and detoxifier of intracellular (inside the cell) tissue. It is a potent antioxidant, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory found in every cell of the body, and it's depletion is component of every chronic disease, or inflammatory condition, or the most chronic of circumstances is aging. It may also act; as other peptides have been found to behave, as a signal to other metabolic processes. Glutathione is important in liver and kidney detoxification processes, and glutathione levels are considered a key marker of immune status.
The functions of glutathione include helping to prevent cell damage by neutralizing harmful molecules known as free radicals; regulating DNA and protein synthesis; and promoting cell growth and immune response.
Reduced glutathione is acted upon by peptidase almost immediately in the blood, and tissues and thus loses its ability to enter cells and act intercellularly. This happens in a very short period of time and thus IV glutathione while having a remarkable impact on metabolism is short lived. Inhalation of glutathione has shown promise in COPD and emphysema and we believe that this continues to be a valuable tool; however, continual inhalation treatment along with oral acetyl-glutatione supplementation seems to work much better.

Resveratrol
Resveratrol is an active polyphenol found primarily in grapes and has been found to have potent antioxidant activity. Resveratrol, combined with other polyphenols may provide protective support to the cardiovascular system and is known for its anti-aging effects.
· Pro-red wine studies support antioxidants in red wine called POLYPHENOLS which help protect the lining of the blood vessels in your heart.
· Resveratrol works to help protect collagen and elastin in the skin, thus reducing wrinkles and keeping the skin looking younger. Click here for more information

Resvoxitrol
Resvoxitrol fits the role of an antioxidant inducer. Rather than depend solely on the classical antioxidant approach, which relies upon the chemistry of redox reactions (vitamins C, E); the agents within Resvoxitrol work by inducing cellular antioxidant capacity primarily through upregulation of the Nrf2 and related pathways. Numerous chronic disease pathways can be modulated via these pathways. This product could be combined with Oxitrol; which relies more heavily on redox-focused antioxidants.

Pycnogenol
Helps with lowering blood sugar and supports healthier blood vessels. This supplement is extracted from the bark of the Maritime Pine that grows along the coast of southwest France. Studies have found Pycnogenol reduces high blood pressure, platelet aggregation, LDL cholesterol and enhances circulation.

- Allergies. Some research in people with allergies to birch shows that taking pycnogenol starting before allergy season begins might reduce allergy symptoms.
- Circulation problems. Taking pycnogenol by mouth seems to significantly reduce leg pain and heaviness, as well as fluid retention in people with circulation problems. Some people use horse chestnut seed extract to treat this condition, but pycnogenol alone appears to be more effective.
- Disease of the retina in the eye. Taking pycnogenol daily for two months seems to slow or prevent further worsening of retinal disease caused by diabetes, atherosclerosis, or other diseases. It also seems to improve eyesight.
- Improved endurance in athletes. Young people (age 20-35) seem to be able to exercise on a treadmill for a longer time after taking pycnogenol daily for about a month.
- High blood pressure. Pycnogenol seems to lower systolic blood pressure (the first number in a blood pressure reading) but does not significantly lower diastolic blood pressure (the second number).
- Asthma in children.
- Varicose veins.

Alpha Lipoic Acid
Alpha-lipoic acid is one of the most powerful antioxidants ever discovered. It is a vitamin-like sulfur-containing compound that is synthesized naturally in the human body. Sometimes it is referred to as alpha-lipoate, thioctic acid, or just lipoic acid. One of its most important characteristics is that it is both fat-soluble and water-soluble. This enables it to provide antioxidant protection in a much wider range of physiological environments throughout the body, which has resulted in some scientists referring to alpha-lipoic acid as the "universal" antioxidant. In the body, alpha-lipoic acid is converted to dihydrolipoic acid (DHLA), which also functions as a strong antioxidant. Lipoic acid is part of two enzyme systems: PDH (pyruvate dehydrogenase) and alphaketoglutarate dehydrogenase. These enzymes are part of the Krebs cycle and are essential in the production of energy.
Helps defend the skin from harmful oxidative stress.
Functions in the Body
Energy Production - Functions as a co-enzyme cofactor in the pyruvate dehydrogenase and alpha-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase mitochondrial enzyme complexes in the production of energy.(1)
Heavy Metal Detoxification - Lipoic acid reduces the toxicity from toxic metals such as mercury,(2) cadmium,(3) and lead.(4) It is also able to form stable complexes with copper, manganese, and zinc ions.(5)
Recycling of other Antioxidants - Able to recycle antioxidants such as vitamin C, vitamin E, glutathione, and coenzyme Q10.(6,7,8,9)
Regulation of Blood Glucose - Increases glucose uptake into muscle cells.(10)
Universal Antioxidant - Because it is able to function in both fat- and water-soluble environments throughout the human body, lipoic acid has been called the “universal” antioxidant.(11,12)
